Are you one of the people who spends hours on Pinterest just like me?! Well, few days ago, I decided to try to do the Apple Roses Pastries and it turned out amazing! I have done for my family here in Riyadh, and everyone love it! It is so easy to do. You can find many variations of this desserts on the internet but there are all beautiful! I decided to do the most easier recipe I found.
- Store-bought frozen puff pastry squares (12)
- 2 red apples
- Half lemon juice
- Flour to sprinkle the counter
- 2 Tbs Cinnamon
- 5 Tbs brown Sugar
- Powdered sugar for decoration (Optional)
- 50 g Melted Butter
- Muffin & Cupcake Tins
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees (F)
It is very simple. First defrost the dough, and sink the apples with the lemon juice for an hour.
Then I cooked the apple slices to make them softer and easier to roll them.
I stretched out the dough, making sure it’s not too thick. Then I spread the dough with butter and sprinkle it with cinnamon and brown sugar. You can also spread it with apricot jam if you prefer instead of the butter, cinnamon and sugar.
Arrange the apple slices on the side of the dough on the long side.
Then fold the dough on the apple slices.
And finally roll the dough with the apples as shown in the picture above.
To prevent the dough to stick, I preferred to use paper muffin cups. And then I placed them in the muffin tray. Spread the top with the rest of the melted butter then cook them for 30 min in the oven. You can sprinkle later the roses pastries with powdered sugar.
