Her photograph in the book shows ancient pictographs of woman from different region of Saudi Arabia. She wanted to show the importance role of women since Pre-history, where women were queens, dancers, fighters, etc…

To take all those photographs, she faced many challenges but also hospitality to reach the different destinations of the pictographs. Sometimes, it required her to climb for two hours in order to capture a photo! reSurface is the first book that documents the petroglyphs of the pre-historic women in the desert of Saudi Arabia.

On the 29th of October, Dr. Majeed Khan, a Saudi Arabian Rock Art specialist, talked about the definition of Rock Art. He studied the Saudi Arabian Rock Art for 40 years and has written many books and made many research about this topic. He is a Consultant Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities.

You can buy the book to know more and see all the photographs. I took few pictures of them in  Alãan Artspace on the Grand opening on the 26th of October.
