Take the RER C train early (8:00) to arrive early at Versailles before the crowd start. The palace opens its door at 9:00. You need about 30 min to arrive to Versailles from the Center of Paris.
The RER C should be in the direction of Versailles Rive gauche passing by Musée d’Orsay, Invalides, Pont de l’Alma, Champs de Mars, Javel,… You’ll know that it is the last stop because everyone will be getting off.
You can buy your tickets at the office du tourisme (Tourism office) not so far from the entrance of Versailles. The price of the ticket is 3 euros more (originally 18 Euros) but you can avoid the crowd of people coming to Versailles too.
The ticket should be valid for the Palace, gardens and Marie-Antoinette’s Estate.
The Palace of Versailles is the Royal palace of Louis XIV with many buildings and gardens.
